Biography for Michael Henry
 
Michael Henry was born to Linvol and Lorna Henry (of Jamaica, West Indies) in Manhattan, NY residing in Queens, NY before moving to Berrien Springs, MI where his father taught at Andrews University for several years. He then relocated to sunny southern California where he has been ever since. He attended and graduated from La Sierra High School in Riverside, CA as an honor student. He then matriculated through and graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a major in Accounting. He again attended and graduated from Golden Gate University in San Francisco; graduating with a Master’s degree in Taxation. He has worked in many capacities in Accounting and Financial Services, including his current position as a financial controller for Biscomerica Corporation. As most who know him know, his real passion is as an educator and he has taught as an adjunct professor and lecturer for San Bernardino Valley College, California State University, San Bernardino, and La Sierra University over the last ten years.   Still, the pride and joy of his life are his wife, Katrina of 15 years. His children Antinette, Michael, Desmond and Kevin.
 
Michael’s experience in ministry spans the last 8 1/2 years here at the 16th Street Church where he has served in many capacities to include ordained Elder, Education/Tutoring, Treasurer, Men’s Ministry Leader, Sabbath School Teacher and his real passions; Youth Ministry and Family Life Ministry where he currently serves. Michael is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry from Andrews University to augment his experience in practical ministry. If anything is to be said about Michael’s ministry is that he loves young people and their families. He believes that God has called him to an awesome ministry as a helper to youth, young adults, and families.  The encouragement given in Phil 1:6 is that God will complete the work which He began in you. Michael’s desire is to run the race that God has given him and to finish it well. Jesus Christ and his family are the most important things to him and he desires that everyone would come to know Jesus and the security salvation brings.  Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone).
